I will not say the Day is done - GBC Pastoral Column #81

Last week I stood before people from all corners of Europe in the ballroom of the Grand Hotel Vienna to deliver the closing sermon at the first Evangelising Europe Conference. I entitled the message, "I will not say the Day is done".

I have often been asked how long I take to prepare a sermon. The answer of course is, "It varies". I can honestly say that this particular message did not take me a few hours, days, or even weeks to prepare. It is the result of the cumulative effect of the work of a few years, particularly the past two. The burdens, breakthroughs, and blessings of those years flooded my heart and the thought of Europe's masses dying without Christ and of Europe's churches failing to preach Christ so occupied my mind that I could not help but weep as I preached. Jesus wept. So can I. So should I. May God break our proud, cold, apathetic hearts for the lost world around us!

The need of the continent is great: we are foolish, naïve, and blind if we do not see it. Thankfully, we have a great Saviour who can and will meet that need working by the Holy Spirit through the preaching of the Word by and among his people.

Below is a PDF of the message. Please read, pray, and pass it on for others to read. Video of the address is also provided below.
